ASPIRA Haugan Eighth Grade Students Travel to Washington D.C.

A group of twenty-seven students and 5 staff members traveled on a school field trip to Washington D.C. This is the second time that our school travels to Washington D.C.  It was a jam-packed spring vacation.  We departed from Aspira Haugan and drove all through the night in a Coach bus.  Once in Washington, we visited and toured Gettysburg National Military Park, Capitol Hill,  and Arlington National Cemetery where we visited the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier & John F. Kennedy's Gravesite. We also visited the Washington and Lincoln Monuments, World War ll, Korean, Iwo Jima, & Vietnam Memorials, the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, F. Udvar-Hazy Aviation Center, American History, and Holocaust Museums. We also toured Embassy Road and had a spectacular view of the National Cathedral and had a FRIGHTFUL night at the Old Town Ghost Tour.  We concluded our trip by visiting George Washington’s Home in Mount Vernon. Our students and staf had TONS of FUN!  (See more pictures below)
