ASPIRA Haugan Middle School (AHMS) provides a rigorous 6th through 8th grade education curriculum supported by technology. Our students receive core subject instruction in Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies supported by elective courses in Computer Science, Art, Music, and Physical Education. AHMS provides its students with the opportunity to participate in over eleven (11) organized clubs and sports teams. The school offers a plethora of opportunity for parent engagement and involvement. ASPIRA Haugan Middle School also provides overall family support services along with social emotional development support for our students via partnerships with Rincon Family Services and other such partners. AHMS offers an exciting middle school program designed to challenge students and build in each student an awareness of his or her individual strengths.. With a diverse set of class offerings, students have significant opportunities to explore their interests in a wide range of academic disciplines. Academically, our goal is to ensure each student is prepared for the next step in his or her educational career while cultivating a sense of curiosity and enthusiasm for learning.

Ms. Pacheco is the Principal at Aspira Haugan Middle School. She is extremely excited for the opportunity to assist in molding our students into leaders of their communities through the exploration of their educational resources. In 2009, Ms. Pacheco graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education with Language Arts, Social Sciences and Middle School Endorsements and began to teach at AHMS. She returned NEIU recently to pursue her Masters in Educational Leadership, and graduated Spring of 2016.
Ms. Pacheco was born and raised in the city of Chicago and is very proud of her Puerto Rican heritage. Before being promoted to Assistant Principal, Ms. Pacheco worked as a teacher at Aspira Haugan Middle School for 7 years. She grew very fond of the students, families and community, and was determined to continue to dedicate her time at developing into an educational leader. She is also the founder and facilitator of the Ladies on the Verge of Excellence Club. This club encourages and empowers young ladies to find leaders within themselves. Ms. Pacheco looks forward to creating a school environment where all students feel welcome, encouraged and inspired.
