School Counseling

Our school Counseling Department provides all the necessary service or support to our students throughout this important developmental period.
The School Counseling Program provides education, prevention and intervention activities, which are integrated into all aspects of student’s lives. Providing student the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary for academic, career and social emotional development.

These goals are met as follows:

• Social Emotional
• Academic Support
• Goal Setting and decision making
• College/Career Awareness
• Education on understanding self and others.
• Communication, problem solving and conflict resolution
• Substance abuse education

Part of the school counseling program is to meet the immediate needs of the student, concerns and interests of students confronting personal and educational problems, through Individual Counseling is provided to the students to assist in many of these goals and in identifying any problems and finding solutions. In addition group counseling is also provided as needed to meet the students needs. To add on as additional supports we count on the services from outside agencies, such as El Rincon Family Services and Trilogy Inc, Behavioral Healthcare to provide more long term services for the students and their families.
